Re: The history of hand shape assessment!
I am very satisfied with the book of Johnny Fincham, except that he establishes the fundamentals of a handread on the handshape system of Terence Duke. So you have found out that Krogman's system is best, only there is no explanation. I hope you come up with some meanings of the five handshapes.

Hi Yogiman,
In my perception Krogman's model only serves to recognize a major principle which is also present inside the other models; however I am not suggesting that Krogman's model is 'best'... but I do think that Krogman's model does describe an important part of the 'sequence' of the various hand shapes in the other models.
Nevertheless, the aspect of 'finger length' is missing in Krogman's model. For this reason I have proposed a more advanced model where the aspect of 'finger length' is added on top of Krogman's model, see the picture below (+ the last paragraph of my article):
Re: The history of hand shape assessment!
Martijn,
please remove your statement giving Terry Dukes credit for innovating a four elemental handshapes - he copied the idea of elemental handshapes wholesale from Fred Gettings ! Until he had seen 'THe Book of the Hand' by Gettings, he did not use elemental handshapes at all.
Terry Dukes was a plagiarist and a liar, so please stop lending him any credibility. He does/did not have any.
Also, you should ask me before you use images from my website in your postings. Those four handprints you have used for the four elemental handshapes are all from my collection.
