'Hand of Hope' - Holding hands with a fetus!

This astonishing photo was taken last october (2012) by Arizona’s Randy Atkins - who is a professional photographer - while his wife Alicia gave birth to their daughter Neveah.
NOTICE: Doctors say that it is not unusual to see an unborn making this gesture (but such situations are never expected... and therefore these only rarely get caught on camera).
Video report: 'Hand of Hope' (featured with the 1999 story of Samuel Armas - who made a likewise gesture as a 21-week old fetus during an open fetal surgery for spina bifida)

... Hmmm, one should wonder here: did the fetus actually make a real gesture???Babies are known to have an innate 'grasping' reflex, which is actually not in control of the baby! These gestures should be recognized as primitive reflex actions of the body originating in the central nervous system.
So obviously, a fetus is not really in control when it 'grasps' for a doctor's finger!
